DIB GenZ Ladies for Change has formally declared its support for Dr. Ibrahim Bangura to become the All People’s Congress (APC) party’s next flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The declaration was made during a well-attended gathering in Freetown, where hundreds of women leaders, youth advocates, and grassroots mobilizers assembled.
Speaking on behalf of the group, a member of DIB GenZ Ladies for Change said the decision followed wide consultations across the Western Area and the provinces. She cited Dr. Bangura’s proven record in education, youth empowerment, maternal health, and transparent leadership as key reasons for their backing.
“Dr. Bangura is the unifier the APC needs to win in 2028,” a member stated. “He has the competence, character, and connection to the grassroots. We are calling on all women across Sierra Leone to rally behind his vision. When our women rise, the APC rises — and when the APC rises, Sierra Leone wins.”
DIB GenZ Ladies for Change announced that they will immediately begin mobilizing delegates, hosting town hall meetings, and leading voter education drives to ensure Dr. Bangura secures victory at the upcoming APC National Delegates Convention.
Dr. Bangura, an academic and peacebuilding expert, is widely respected for his contributions to public service, community development, and the APC party.
DIB GenZ Ladies for Change is a coalition of women and young leaders dedicated to advocacy, grassroots development, and the socio-economic advancement of women and children across Sierra Leone.
