Samuel Abu Bakarr Kargbo a plain clothe guard to President Julius Maada Bio, was allegedly killed by unknown assailants in the early of hours of Monday, 27^th February 2-023. The deceased before his death, was found by passers-by in the early hours of Monday 27^th February, along the Congo-Cross highway battling for his life with stabs wounds all over his body. He was later taken to the Thirty-Fourth-34^th Military Hospital at Wilberforce where he finally gave up the ghost.

A close family source informed FORUM that the deceased was at his Congo-Cross residence on Sunday 26^th February resting in the evening after church service when he was urged by one of his friend and inmates of the same residence to escort him to a party but he failed to return home that day only to be called by an anonymous caller that the deceased body at been dropped at the Congo-Cross highway around Alfantic Boutique area after serous torture, laceration and stabs in an unknown location.

The deceased until his death was an ordained pastor and active bodyguard to the president but was recently posted to the Office of the First Lady, Fatima Bio as guard. He was one of the fortunate survivors of the recent road accident involving the first lady… Few suspects have so far been nabbed and are helping the police in their investigations whilst others are believed to be on the run for fear of prosecution.

As the public remains baffled about the cause and reason for the suspicious murder. It is believed by many around corridors of power that his death might not be unconnected with the internal wrangling within the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as another strong supporter, popularly known as Ratty who was allegedly attacked by another gang group with the party.

He was shown in video shared on social media asking for help to save his life and that of his wife who was also not spared. As members of the bereaved family keep mourning the death of their loved one and awaits the result of the Sierra Leone Police investigations into the alleged murder, they are calling on the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, especially the Office of the President and his wife Mr Bio, whom he has been serving diligently to leave no stone unturned to speedily investigate the matter and bring the assailants and all those behind this brutal murder to book.

All efforts by FORUM news desk in trying to reach the security detail lead in the Office of the First Lady for comment on the issue proved futile. However, the editorial looks forward to having the side of the from the appropriate security authorities at State/Presidential Lodge on the alleged murder of one of their personnel Samuel Abu Bakarr Kargbo.
