The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) has announced that the 2026 Unity Cup will officially open the 2026/27 Leone Rock Premier League season with a clash between Bo Rangers FC and East End Lions FC.
The Unity Cup is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Southern Arena in Bo. The PLB has confirmed that spectators will be allowed to attend the match free of charge.
The curtain raiser will bring together the winners of Sierra Leone’s two major domestic competitions. Leone Rock Premier League champions Bo Rangers FC will face Orange Sierra Leone FA Cup winners East End Lions FC.
The fixture is expected to provide an early test for both clubs as they prepare for the new football season.
Bo Rangers will enter the contest as the reigning Premier League champions, while East End Lions secured the FA Cup title to earn their place in the Unity Cup.
The match will also give supporters an opportunity to see some of the country’s top players in action before the start of the league campaign.
According to the PLB, the 2026/27 Leone Rock Premier League season will officially begin on Saturday, October 10, 2026, six days after the Unity Cup.
The Board said the full fixture for the new league season will be released shortly, giving clubs and supporters details of the matches to be played across the country.
The PLB has called on clubs, players, coaches, match officials, supporters and other stakeholders to work together to ensure a competitive and successful season.
The appeal comes as clubs prepare for another campaign in the country’s top flight, with teams expected to complete their preparations ahead of the October 10 kickoff.
The Unity Cup has therefore been positioned as the first major domestic football event ahead of the new Premier League season.
With Bo Rangers and East End Lions set to meet in Bo, attention will turn to the Southern Arena as football supporters look forward to the opening contest.
The PLB is also expected to provide further details on the league fixtures and other arrangements as preparations for the 2026/27 season continue.
The new season will then officially get underway on October 10, with clubs across the country competing for the Leone Rock Premier League title.
