Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has praised the National Social Security and Insurance Trust for its innovative and efficient approach to service delivery, urging other public institutions to emulate its model.
He made the remarks during a visit to the 2026 Job Fair and Business Exposition organised by the Ministry of Employment Labour and Social Security at the Miatta Conference Hall. The event brought together job seekers, employers, and public institutions, creating a platform to promote employment opportunities and improved service delivery.
During the exhibition, NASSIT showcased a fully operational Pop up Service Centre that offered real time services to members. Unlike the traditional information booth setup, the centre provided instant member registration, biometric identification card issuance, contribution statements, and support for benefit applications. The initiative was widely seen as a practical demonstration of how technology can simplify access to essential public services.
The Vice President, accompanied by Labour Minister Mohamed Rahman Swarray and NASSIT Director General Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, took time to interact with the system. He personally experienced the process, receiving his biometric card and contribution statement on the spot.
Describing efficiency as the bedrock of public trust, Dr Jalloh said NASSIT’s ability to deliver immediate solutions sets a standard for other government agencies. He noted that bringing services closer to the people reduces unnecessary delays and bureaucratic barriers.
“What we see here today is a NASSIT that meets the worker wherever they are,” he said, adding that such innovations allow citizens to focus more on contributing to national development rather than navigating complex administrative processes.
Director General Daboh explained that the Pop up Service Centre is part of a broader 2026 strategy aimed at decentralising services and improving accessibility through technology. He said the institution is committed to a service first approach that prioritises efficiency, responsiveness, and user satisfaction.
He added that by expanding digital solutions and outreach initiatives, NASSIT intends to reach more workers across the country, including those in underserved communities.
The Service Centre is expected to remain operational throughout the Workers’ Day celebrations, providing continuous access to essential services for participants and the wider public.
The Vice President’s endorsement has reinforced the importance of innovation within the public sector, with stakeholders hopeful that similar approaches will be adopted across government institutions to improve service delivery nationwide.
