Whiles the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) is busy putting modalities in place for the approaching National Delegates’ Conference at all levels of the party, fake news broke late last week trying to diver minds and the well-focused attention of the party from the most forward looking trajectory. To which loyalists APC members and supporters say no amount of unwarranted distraction can divert the focused thoughtfulness of the party from its scheduled timetable for the much awaited 2021 NDC. Not even “rebellious” can neither stop that now nor any ruling party political driven court injunction. So let haters and ruling party ill-wishers bury their angers against the APC. For all the people of Sierra Leone are anxiously looking forward to embracing soonest is the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2023 elections and its entire executive including the indomitable National Chairman and Leader, former President Ernest Bai Koroma finished. Of course former President Koroma has again received the blessings of his party to serve up to 2021.

Also of keen public and political interests in the bag is the corruption scam being unearthed by the perception survey recently compile by Centre for Accountability and the Rule of Law with support from the Department for International Development, and the Afrobarometer, which exposed the House of Parliament of Sierra Leone to the lowest ebb public confidence, a situation that has left the House its Members of Parliament with no public trusts. What a shame for the country every in history this has been named as the worst House in terms of corruption. Apart from the legislative arm the executive is also named as another corrupt public institution, clearly implying that there is grand corruption right at the seat of power, under the watchful eyes of President Julius Maada Bio, whose stance of graft were expected to zero tolerant. But only God knows what has gone wrong with the entire national effort. With these among several issues plus the slow death of Sierratel under the ministerial leadership of Minister Mohamed Rado Swaray are all of serious public concerns much as telecommunication and internet service provisions are mattered to subscribers including the news room of Forum Newspaper.

However what was most temptingly distractive to the public, supporters of the APC was late last week’s fake news that were circulated by detractors and haters that the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), 2018 presidential candidate, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara was involved in a gruesome road accident, and sustained damage is untrue.

It emerged in the wake of series of public concerns being about the unceremonious disappearance of President Bio, whom the presidency says went to Lebanon for medical check-ups, though activated honey moon has already eclipsed the routine medical check-ups.

The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) operatives, with overzealousness to equalize, went on the rampage and started circulating fake news purporting that Dr Samura Kamara and others in his entourage were involved in a road accident. The trick was a damn black lie spread by haters to secure equal ill-fated points to that of President Bio’s health predicaments.

The trick is not new as one could imagine as they have always wished the untimely death of former President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, who is still also in a very healthy condition as Dr Samura Kamara. The demonic feelings about the former president didn’t kill him nor will similar sentiments being expressed against Dr Kamara affect his spirit in his drive to redeem Sierra Leone from the present bondage. So spot on Samura Kamara the sky is your limit and you must reach your zenith by the grace of Allah provided your APC party earn you the tick to run for the 2023 presidential election.

To say the least, their stunts were feeble and very cheap as it affects no attention from the other side political divide not even their highly aimed target, Dr Samura Kamara, but it rather exposed their deep rooted hatred for the APC party and hale and hearty Dr Kamara.

Such games are not Sierra Leonean at all particularly for a ruling political party to whom much is duly expected by the public only to be seen dragging its reputations to the mud. Shame of failed SLPP operatives for Dr Samura Kamara is alive and kicking beyond haters’ imaginations.

Politics aside, why would a Sierra Leonean even wish accident and an untimely demise of any of his/her fellow citizens just to please his political godfathers? Is the question most well-meaning people would want to ask SLPP social media operatives, who had wished death for the former APC 2018 presidential candidate, who seems to be posing serious personality confrontational postures against the poorly performed incumbent SLPP party public figures.

Dr Samura Kamara is a Sierra Leonean, a very senior citizen with highly repeatable standings in the country’s public service, and in the scopes of national politics, he belongs to the most popular political party, the embattled APC, which he represented in the 2018 presidential elections and controversial lost to President Bio of the SLPP.

Notwithstanding that, his social interactions cuts across the divides as fervent Catholic Christian, Dr Kamara interacts with people from all regions of the country, irrespective of one’s social, economic and religious status or background.

So why would certain group of Sierra Leoneans would want his untimely misfortune only to secure points against the opposition APC, especially at a critical moment when Sierra Leoneans at home and in the diaspora are searching everywhere on planet for a God’s sent leader to deliver the country from its present socioeconomic and political setbacks.

As for why Dr Samura Kamara and the APC as well as his large following of supporters must entertain nor entreat such diversion tactics is that the ruling SLPP never want the APC to stay focus because as long as the APC is in formidable the ruling party start to worry thus they would go all out to look for cheap strategies to divert the minds and attentions of the APC from the bigger picture. Hale and hearty Dr Samura Kamara stay focused and up your guards well that ever before. For the untimely death of you haters won’t kill you at all
